StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty is a military science fiction real-time strategy video game developed by Blizzard Entertainment as a sequel to the award-winning 1998 video game StarCraft. Released on July 27, 2010, StarCraft II is split into three installments: the base game with the subtitle Wings of Liberty, and two expansion packs, Heart of the Swarm and Legacy of the Void.
Its an amazing game, I haven’t really gotten it yet, I would like to though. The game has some amazing replays, and some amazing players. From what I have gathered, the guys over at HDStarcraft and Starcraft-Arena.net are awesome 😀 Yes I am a fan boy, HD FTW! 😀
It would also seem that the guys from the Asian Servers are now my Starcraft Idols! They are awesome!
And I’m In Love with Zerg And Protoss! They are super awesome! No other race can contend! Yeah who’s Terran? Blehh! ^_^ But seriously I am definitely a Zerg fanboy, I mean other than the fact that they are awesome looking and creep the daylights out of anybody and have a certain ALIEN look ^_^. Freaking Awesome :D! But they have some amazing techs, that suit my playing style. Their units are also pretty awesome, and I am working out strategies as the days go by until I purchase my very own StarCraft II. Besides, Zerg looks like they would rip you limb from limb 😀
Protoss is another win win for me. I really like the whole advanced technology concept. I mean their buildings are intensely advanced, they look like if you wage war, they will throw down with some awesome manipulation. I also love the fact that look like Living machines, a concept I admire greatly. However it has come to my attention that Protoss is not being given the proper attention when it comes to actual gameplay. Is this move attentional by Blizzard? Is Protoss supposed to be a purely strategical race? Or are they just ignoring Protoss and putting all of their work towards Zerg and Terran?
Regardless of the reason, I really do think that StarCraft II is the game of the year, with almost a decade of production, delays etc., Blizzard has really outdone themselves with this game.
The game requires some serious specs on your computer to run at maximum glory. 12 GB of harddisk is required. Which is alot, but not for most people as most laptops come with 100 GB minimum these days, and desktops exceed Terabytes. As for me, my 40 GB is being abused right now, and an external 250 GB has only 70 GBs left.
You also require a minimum 2.6 GHZ of processing power. AMD or Intel or equivalent. As for me, I am running a 2.2 GHZ AMD Athlon 64 Processor 6600+ and a NVIDIA GeForce 6100 nForce 405. Its pretty awesome, I can run Age Of Empires III at maximum with all details at max. It looks freaking awesome. But Age Of Empires III is 5 years old. So I am going to need to upgrade in order to run Starcraft II. I am currently saving up.
I can only wait for this game now. So let’s wet our lips ^_^ VIDEOS!
That one is from last year.
